There is a reason this is so disconcerting to the public—from the earliest age, students are taught that science is reduce-and-dry, that every scientific question always has a right or a wrong answer. Moreover, most zombie sciences are supported by moral imperatives – to doubt the zombie science is consequently labelled as wicked, reckless, a tool of sinister and destructive forces. In other words, science was supposedly about creating and testing predictions, devising theories and doing observations and experiments to test them. Modern day science has numerous similarities (of course, dissimilarities too)with Jainism.

In keeping with my science outreach interests for middle and higher school students from urban areas AND my academic interests in experiential education, basic biology, environmental science and urban ecology, I have chosen programs that fit the bill, such as projects from my really own neck of the woods, St. Louis, Missouri.
